Not unless you can find a new Cendyne/Verbatim dual format drive for a good price. celtic_druid May 19, 2003, 04:14 AM The +R only one is supposed to be the same internally as the dual format version. Don't think anyone has managed to flash their +R to +R/-R yet though. bradmax57 May 19, 2003, 10:07 AM Originally posted by wolfyuk just looking to buy a new dvd writer have any one used one of these i've got a sony but looking for a second one Ive got the ND1300A it seems pretty good although I bought some Bulkpaq gen 2 4X dvd's and they dont work  scrimm May 29, 2003, 04:35 PM Just got one of these drives,, what media/software are you using now, and what success are you having Cheers bradmax57 Jun 10, 2003, 06:40 PM Originally posted by scrimm Just got one of these drives,, what media/software are you using now, and what success are you having Cheers bulkpaq and bigpockets dont workbut everything else seems ok kvee Jun 12, 2003, 04:02 AM The 1100 and 1300 are "electronically identical" No doubt just matter of time before someone comes up with the unofficial firmware to make an 1100 into a 1300. From what I have seen so far there are massive complaints from 1300 users that the drive only works with expensive high end media. It will not work with cheaper media. Presumably NEC will take note and put out new firmware soon??
