I want to start burning games but I do not want to install the modchip if it messes up xbox live. Has anyone been able to burn a game and play it without a modchip like the old DC used to do with a boot disc?

i think MS was a bit smarter than to let us play back ups without a mod.

Okay here is the deal you can get on XBL with a modchip PROVIDED that you have a switch installed and turn it off before going on LIVE. As a consequence though you will have to use your original discs on LIVE. People have been reporting great success with using backups on XBOXCONNECT though.

If you don't know how to solder. Why don't you just buy a Xodus/Matrix chip. No need to solder. If you want to make a switch. You can solder on the $50.00 chip not you xbox.
