:( i just got my xbox chipped the other day with an alladin chip and evox got game on hardrive and deleted it,i must have deleted a wrong file or something evo x is working example playing games playing dvd etc but when i select go to original xbox dashboard it has a screen with warning your xbox requires a service,What have i done and how can i fix it,Can i download the dashboard again or something and how do i put it in.
please can someone help me out..everything works through evox though.
I've been told i can use my slayers disk with a patch but dont know how to do it can anybody help because i've been told that the only way i can fix this is to flattern my hardrive and put the drivers etc dashboard and evo x,But i think the person who is going to do it just after some money because i'm new to the x box chipped scene,I know how to build pc's from scratch and install device drivers etc and operating sysytems etc,So is it possible for me to just patch the file,Or do i have to flattern my hardrive like this person says,If it's true can i do this through my pc by unlocking the hardrive etc and locking or does it have to be through the x box,Thanks everyboy who helped me last time but i lost my post.

"flattern"..what's that then??, do you mean format?...anyway, are you getting error 13??, or 16 ??, if so, just get an original xboxdash.xbe of the same kernal version as your box and up it to C:\...actually, from the sound of it, you may have deleted other files from the C:\ too, in that case you'll need to up all the xbox's C:\ drive files

I ment format sorry,On the warning screen on the left hand side it says 21 in white writing and your xbox requires service please call xbox customer service,I could probally download xboxdash.xbe but i dont know how to copy files to hardrive because i tried to copy splinter cell to e:\games but it missed the e:games folder and save to the e:\ in multiple files instead of one folder that i wanted because i dont know how to use evox properly,thank you arthur_p_huxake for the replie but can you give me some more info or a link to a website thanks

error 21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag

hmm...very broad description, but seeing as you say evox still works and you only get this when trying to access the original dash, so this is almost definetly still dashboard error related

as for getting it on to your box, you'll need...

boxplorer (get boxplorer from a link in the iso folder)
original xboxdash.xbe (try megagames)

burn them to a disc following cal_g's tut in the faq, but use rnm, which you can get here: http://www.stompinc.com/index.phtml?stp

put it in your box and read boxplorer's readme file for instructions on how to copy over the file

i hear ya.. the only reason i said to use im is that i can walk him through it step by step and get faster feed back.. it would be faster for both us....

heres one way to fix this.. he said he has the slayers disc right? theres an option on that menu called patch c: for xbox live/retail boot(option 11 on slayer 2.0) witch u prolly used scence 2.1 auto does it for u

the reason u have to patch it is cause the xboxdash.xbe neads to be changed msdashboard.xbe.. the instal only puts evox as the defalt dash but doesnt rename the other on the boot of your evox screen if u know what im talking about..

i think it was for people who dont ever plan to u use live so thay dont have a chance of gitting banned

anything else just ask.. if im wrong in anyway please correct me so i can further help the future of xbox gaming for years to come and keep passing on my knowlage
