Bulkpaq greens are OK, but the grey top 2x datawrites are more reliable for me. I guess that's why they cost more. They are both made by Princo, so there must be some difference in reliability/quality.

They are "exactly" the same disc - fact.

Interesting post in the lounge on bst a few days back about this. ALL Datawrite & Bulkpaq discs are processed in a factory in Scotland by all accounts. They flood the market with new grade "A" DVD-R's like those mentioned above it seems and get everyone buying these cheap, great discs. Then the barstewards ofload a mass amount of grade "B" crapola discs and of course we get the situation where everyone is saying "They have changed the dye.....".

If anyone knows anymore on this story and can name names maybe provide phone No's etc to this factory I have a contact in the UK Computer press that I'm sure would love to expose this. I have no reason to doubt this so far and it makes far more sense than discs just going bad all of a sudden.

It's the thread "Has anyone tried Datawrite Red Top DVD-R's?" btw.

Looks like he knows quite a bit on it and maybe worked there or knows someone who does.
