Have ordered a pioneer 105 and wondering what disks to use with it.
The first disk I was looking at was DATAWRITE "RED" 4X DVD-R.
These are made by PRINCO and are 95p per disk.
the other one is DATAWRITE CLASSIC branded matt grey-topped (Generation 3) 4.7GB DVD-R.
I think these are made by TDK and are £1.05 per disk, but only 2 speed writing.

I am not to bothered about the speed of writing just as long as the disks will play on my philips standalone DVD player.

Thanks in advance for any help:)

If you are simply trying to avoid the hassle then yes Riteks are your best bet. If you DVD player is at all picky with DVD recordable media chances are that Riteks will still read even though the vast majority of other brands will not.

Just found these
RITEK UNBRANDED 1X DVD-R in packs of 25
The disc has a plain unbranded silver surface with no markings.

Are these better that the datawrites.

Yes, yes, yes.

You can safely write to them ay 2X too using the hacked firmware on the 105.
