I am looking into buying a new burner to backup my games. The burner I have isnt capable of SD2.I know I can get a Lite-on 2410B very cheap and was wondering if they are good burners or what other burners would you recommend.I dont want to spend too much money unless I have too. Thanks for the info.

P.S. Some of the games I am trying to backup are GTA3,GTA:ViceCity,Diablo2+Expansion and a couple of others.

Of those listed only GTA3 is protected with SD2. The others are securom.

Well here you can get either an Asus or a Lite-On 52x drive for $80 AUD (probably less now).

In the US I believe the Asus works out to around $20 including rebates.

I'm sure Ferrari offer great service to, however I wouldn't be recommending one to someone who wants a cheap car.

Don't get me wrong I actually own a Plextor burner, I however also own a Lite-On and an Asus... Also got an Acer and Yamaha around somewhere.

I have a 48x asus rewriter and it works fine. is a bit noisy at 48x but i have read most fast cd writers are noisy. i have used it to back up 1:1 latest safedisc and securom games (later with help of twinpeaks so i guess not really 1:1). no failures yet. it is not meant to be much good at dae from protected music cd's but i don't need that anyway.
