Mine stopped spinning and would hiccup every now and then.... took it to a store that fixes any console and was told that the laser is not ready to die and since the release he has not seen any laser die.... needless to say 30 bucks later, it is quite as a mouse and all the wierd sounds and what not that was going on is gone...... laser has not clicked once since I went and had him check it out...... not sure what he did, but he said that it is as good as new..... only took about 2 hours too...... maybe he has magic ps2 dust..... He said that his v1 that is in the store has been going strong and played 10+ hours a day since it was opened on day one and nothing wrong with it.....

The reason the blobs are all together is that the PS2 needs the time/date setting again.
