I am trying to custom paint my case is there a trick to getting the front cover off of the tray without tearing the clips up?

I am trying to custom paint my case and I already destroyed a clip on one side I have another tray and I was trying to take that cover off also.

I think if u use a blowdrier to warm up the clips they will bend ez'er w/o busting off. To bad i found out about that after i broke my tray cover :(

just snap the damn thing off !

my ps2 has been missing the tray cover for 3 years & it still works fine, just looks stupid.

If you take your time you can get it off by pulling the clips off but it should slide right out... but again if you take the tray off a couple of times its going to break. Funny thing is after it's broken you can put the tray cover back on and it'll stay in place as though nothing happened to it. It stays in place almost like snapping in there. (It will stay wheather you break it or not.)

i snapped mine off and superglue held it in place. make sure not to use too much glue if you do break it. you don't want it insde the ps2. i would eject the tray and leave it out when trying to put it back on if glue is needed.

yeh with my first ps2 i snpped the clips off but the cover stayed on perfectly you had to give it a wee tug to get it off ;)

I am almost finished with my project I got the door off and I painted it to match the rest of my ps2 I am almost finished with my project now

Well i ripped the power cable for my internal light I installed. I am working on fixing that that so I send you a picture when i am finally done

I used some Krylon home decor primer that was suitable for plastic and
Krylon Textured metalic stone paint (that was also suitable for plastic)
I also used some triple thick glossy coating to top it off
