xjoedisx May 26, 2003, 10:48 AM yes 3 different times from 3 different people.
anti-product May 30, 2003, 07:15 AM i also get thiry to install the game, but i bought it.i dont think it is faulty discs as i had it replaced and stil have the same problem.plus the fact it installed on my laptop.both computers are running xp home and are resonably powerful
guido23 May 31, 2003, 01:55 PM I have a RAR'ed backup for each CD and when I try to unRAR CD2 I always receive the same error message:
! C:\Temp\ENTER.THE.MATRIX-DEViANCE\CD2\dev-etm2.r48: Packed data CRC failed in dev-etm2.bin. The volume is corrupt
! CRC failed in dev-etm2.bin. The file is corrupt
So this sounds very similar to what you're experiencing, except that I can't even get to the point of burning out my back-up because WinRAR won't generate the bin file. Any help or advice would be appreciated; feel free to email me directly at BryanGuidoHassin@hotmail.com or I'm on AIM as FabioBGH (Long story!).
Thanks! :-)

The game came as a .cue with the .bin (4 disc image) !
Now you downloaded a file that was corrupted to begin with can't expect much there as for the thread starter. You download a corrupted file no matter how many times you download you'll get the same results unless you get it off a specific person (single) !!!!
Yeah this is information not anything else to be more specific on the topic :)
celtic_druid Jun 01, 2003, 04:50 AM @guido23, just download a new dev-etm2.r48 and make sure it checks out with the SFV.
guido23 Jun 01, 2003, 11:18 AM I just downloades a new dev-etm2.r48 and I still receive the same error. I had WinRAR try to "repair archive" and again the same error. What is CRC anyway?
celtic_druid Jun 01, 2003, 11:27 AM Cyclic Redundancy Check. Did you check the file(s) with the SFV?
guido23 Jun 01, 2003, 11:34 AM Forgive my ignorance, but what is SFV?
celtic_druid Jun 01, 2003, 07:27 PM Simple File Varification.
When you download a game you would normally get say dev-etm1.rar-r52 and dev-etm1.sfv (same for the other disc(s) and dev-etm.nfo.
guido23 Jun 01, 2003, 08:28 PM Using SFV Checker v1.09, it doesn't look like the SFV is much help. The SFV for disc 1 lists all of the RAR files and their integrities; the SFV for disc 2 lists nothing. This is the log:
*****
SFV File Manager Log Date: 2003-06-01 19:24:28
SFV File: C:\Temp\ENTER.THE.MATRIX-DEViANCE\CD2\dev-etm2.sfv
Filename Bytes Type Status chkSum sfvSum
End
*****
Does this mean that the SFV is corrupted as well?
