Hi all..
I have a problem that is giving me hassles...I have a Pioneer DVDrom model 114 which only reads dvds at 2.0x.. Awhile ago i installed XP ASPI drivers and the thing went like a rocket (6.0x)..now for some reason it only reads at 2.0x....What should i do to get my rom to read quicker...Any suggestions...
My system is
Msi K7t Ultra 2 Mobo. Xp 2600 Pro OS, A05 DVR/RW, Pioneer 114dvd rom, 2x 80gb 7200rpm hdd (8mb cache) and 512 ddr pc2100 ram...

Thanks in advance

I had a few problems after loading the latest ones from Adaptec. Revert back to v4.6 by searching for 'forceASPI'. It contains various batch files that will copy all v4.6 files of the ASPI layer. You can use 'ASPICHK' or NERO's own 'drive checker' to make sure the files are installed correctly. I've had no problems since.

Well i ended up figuring the whole thing out for myself... During another misc software install some of the mobo chipset and ide drivers had been altered. I reinstalled the mainboard Via and ATA drivers via the MSI website and whola....it is all happy.. My rom is now ripping at 8x with no probs...
