Recently i've had some dvd-r movies through that wont play on the xbox at all, i've tried re-burning them onto media I know works but I still get the same problem. The discs work fine in my standalone dvd player but not in the xbox, it has to be something with the data on the disc because as i said b4 i'm re-burning them onto media that i've had no problems with.

Does anyone know what the problem may be?

When you say media that you know works? What do you mean? Is it that you have played dvd-r movies on your xbox before and now they don't. If so what changed. We need a few more details.

If you are using Nero to burn/reburn, make sure you have the latest version, use UDF/ISO and tick up the box "Force DVD-Video compatibility mode required for Xbox TM", in the UDF Tab.

I use DVD Decrypter in ISO mode for my discs and that does the trick. My XBOX doesn't care much for the ones that are burned using other methods.

The discs are ones i've got from people and i've tried rebuning them using stomp but still get the same problem, but i guess that if they were originally burnt with nero the copies i'm doing still wouldn't work and that i'd need the original disc to copy

Try it with DVD Decrypter in ISO mode and see what that does. That program has worked Miracles for me.
