Dear Fellow Gamers,

I made a backup of Vice City for pc. I have the original. Installing the backup for VC was not a problem. Actually playing the game is. The game will only play from the original cd. Even though I installed it with the back up. When I attempt to play using the backup nothing happens and the loading Icon comes up but nothing happens after that. When I use the original game the screen turns black and it starts up Vice City...

I followed the directions exactly for my backup cd program and still. I believe later today I will attempt to make a backup of it again just to make sure I did it right.

Is there any advice or things to try that anyone can give me?

Yeah.. i had a problem like that.... I tried an .EXE patch from www.gamecopyworld.com and it seems to have worked for me. But if you do decide to change the .exe.. make a backup of the current one, i havent tried running the original disk with the .EXE patch...

"I followed the directions exactly for my backup cd program"

What program and what directions?

Because the game is protected with Securom v4.8.xxxx and no matter what program/directions you aren't going to get a working 1:1 copy.

You have three choices one of which has already been covered. The other two choices are emulation and the use of twin sectors to simulate the protection.
