I'm having real problems, for quite a while now each time I've ripped a disc with DVD Decrypter, then started the Instant Copy process my PC has frozen and I've had to restart.

I formatted last night and apart from XP the only progs I have installed are DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0, Winrar, Daemon Tools 3.26 & Instant Copy 7.0.

Today with barely anything on the hard drive it happened again half way through the process.

Can anyone shed any light on my problem please? Could it be another one of the programmes I'm using? Anyone heard anything?

Thanks for reading.

Is this happening on just one disk or on a number of different disks ?

First off I would update DVD Decrypter which is now v3.1.6.0 and also IC7 to v7.1.1 as both progs have had a lot of bugfixes and improvements in recent updates.

Hmm I'm begining to think it's more serious than I originally thought, it's just happened a couple of times when I haven't been doing anything...I just left the PC alone stable on my desktop and came back - frozen.

Any suggestions? new motherboard?! lol.

Most encoding/transcoding proggies really put your RAM through it's paces and any problems with RAM, usually show up quite quickly.

My advice would be to check this out first. if you have more than one memory card, try taking one out and usingjust one, then try swapping them around etc.

No mate, no new card at all.

I tried a different hard drive and it still happened so it's a hardware problem by the look of it. My friend said his PC kept locking up when his CD writer was on the way out so I'm gonna try to disable my CD drives then see if it still happens. If it still happens then it looks like a new board?!
