purecat Jun 04, 2003, 05:18 PM Hi...ok, my bf has an xbox with the original ms dashboard and i have evox. We got a mem card so he could play his game over here and we had no problem copying the save from his hard drive to the mem card but i cannot find any options on my evox dash to allow me to copy that save to my hard drive.
Is there any way I can do this (without having to hook it up to my pc)? Or is there any way to re-install the original dashboard back onto my system??
I'm desperate here, peeps, plz help :(
TIA
Cat
dylan tracy Jun 04, 2003, 05:30 PM http://www.megaxkey.com/ i know of that way to transfer saves to hd to hd... no other
if his is modded u can use the save game manager
purecat Jun 04, 2003, 05:37 PM his IS modded, but he has the original dashboard, i have evox. The link you gave me will allow me to save to my pc hd but not from his xbox to mine, which is what I need. Thanks, tho, I appreciate it.
The evox doesn't give me an option to transfer saves like the original xb dash does.....anyone know if I can replace the evox dash with the original?
Alexoi Jun 04, 2003, 06:10 PM I did transfer the saved files from my memory card to my xbox harddrive sucessfully before. I am using the offical xbox memory card. When I ftp to my xbox, it is showing the I drive in flashfxp. The I drive is the memory card. I just highlight the save files from the I drive(memory card) and transfer them to my xbox and it works.
purecat Jun 04, 2003, 06:23 PM Do you have a link on how to do that step by step? I am also using the official mem card. Thanks Alexoi :)
Alexoi Jun 04, 2003, 06:30 PM I don't have the step by step instruction but it is very simple. When you ftp to your xbox, you should see C,D,E,I,X,Y,Z partitions. When you double click the I drive, you should be able to see the content of you memory card. Then right click on the folder you want to copy, then transfer it to your pc, then transfer it back to your xbox hd. If you want to move them instead of copy them, just right click on the folder and choose move. Then type the full path where you want to put the save folder on xbox hd. I can't check xbox scene for you to see it they have this tutorial because my company blocked that website.
purecat Jun 04, 2003, 06:39 PM ah, thanks alexoi, much appreciated
anyone know if I can do this WITHOUT ftping?? I am not versed in that and don't have too much time to mess with it.
develitate Jun 05, 2003, 03:40 AM If you dont have the original dash on you xbox then you can't do it without FTPing. There isnt an option on your EVOX menu to access the original MS dash? If not they you cant change a lot of settings like DD and DTS as well as HDTV settings and time/date etc.? I have an option to go directly to the MS dash from my EVOX menu.
nimbles Jun 05, 2003, 03:50 AM I agree with develitate- thats how i do it- i access the ms dashboard (its an option in system management)- there you can manage your game saves
Cabrill Jun 05, 2003, 04:00 AM Personally I'd just use the XBox File Commander from EvoX, then access the I:\, and copy the contents of that to your Xbox E:\. Pretty sure that'd do it, but honestly the easiest way WOULD be to get the original Dashboard.
purecat Jun 05, 2003, 06:37 AM I see an option for MS Dashboard but when I click it nothing happens.
Cabrill, how do I use the Xbox File Commander from evox?
I really appreciate your help on this, guys :)
gameaholica Jun 05, 2003, 07:17 AM good info...... this is helping me also. Just put a 120gb HD in.... so I need to move stuff around a little, lol.
TheCheekyMonkey Jun 05, 2003, 07:59 PM this is the easiest way to do this, providing you have the game and game save, play the backup on your machine, load the game from his memory card, then remove memory card and save the game to hard disk through the game.......easy
purecat Jun 05, 2003, 08:04 PM sounds easy enough, i will give it a try, cheeky, thanks
Cabrill Jun 06, 2003, 04:09 AM As for Xbox Explorer/File Commander, whatever. Mine was installed with EvoX, under System, then Applications. I used the newest version of the Slayers disc, so if you didn't you might now have it.
