Mate,

I had exactley the same problem for the past few days and wanted to smash my 105 up. The way I resolved it was to burn at a lower speed, I was trying to burn at 4x, and got power caliberation error time after time, I then changed it to 2x and it has worked perfect everytime, try writing at 1x.

As wardy says, try at 1X. If it wont work witha Ritek disk, it wont work with anything, so if this fails, I would seriously think bout talking to SVP for a refund/replacement.
