Okay and your point is? Are you asking wether you should pick up another 105 or wait for the 106? What exactly is it that you are trying to ask here? bazilyo Jun 05, 2003, 01:37 PM i shoul stick with the one you know , unless that is you know something we dont ? lhys09915 Jun 06, 2003, 10:34 AM sorryy about that.just wanted to know how many will wait or rush out for 105.some shops have uped there price to £300 for 105. hissingsid Jun 06, 2003, 10:38 AM Upped their price for 105 to £300:confused: MR2-UK Jun 06, 2003, 10:39 AM Wait for the 106 ? http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/results.php?main=CD+%26+DVD+Writers&type=category&keyword=DVD+Writers&session=e842555f22fd4a55383358abcf263109 PhilEnfield Jun 06, 2003, 11:52 AM I read a review recently that said the price would be around £165-185, when it's launched. BigPockets are taking the Pi** IMO @ £249 The review I read said that in addition to DVD+R writing, Pioneer had finally sorted out an official firmware release that worked OK with the 106, eliminating the many problems that have plaqued 105 users. If all this is true, it may be worth waiting ;) MR2-UK Jun 06, 2003, 02:46 PM Like any new hardware it is bound to be expensive at first plus you will pay a premium for getting one before the official release date. My 105 and the hacked firmware I use work perfectly. I think the reason for this "new" drive is to bring back the limitations of pioneer's firmware. I wonder what % of pioneer owners use official firmware and how many use hacked firmware, I think hacked will win. The only problems I've had was when using pioneer's official firmware. Get my point. ;) I will not be buying one PhilEnfield Jun 06, 2003, 02:57 PM Yep ... you're probably right, but I'm sure the boys will have new firmware hacks, very quickly, if the Pioneer one is not up to standard. I wont be rushing in either, but will be watching from the sidelines for a while ;) |
