does anyone know of a brand of dvd-r that will work flawlessly with this player?
everything so far plays for half an hour or so then freezes, nothing wrong with discs as they work on my daewoo dvd upstairs
thought it might have been the unit overheating as I had a sky box sitting on top of it , but its on its own now
anyone any ideas????????

Try a Ritek disk, these are renowned for their compatibility with a wide range of players. Also try burning at a slower speed, this sometimes helps.
IMO if a Ritek won't work .... nothing will.
Have a look at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php it seems this player is choosy about media, lots of folk are having probs.

That depends on what burner & firmware you're using
