The other day i just accidentaly put a cd r into my thompson drive in my xbox bulieving that it was a cd rw and started playing music from it, then i realised that my xbox could read cd r but then i began testing so i burned a memorex cd r black top and inserted in my xbox and it wouldn't do anything, why? any ideas?, my first cd r was a fujifilm.

Well, it has been said that the Xbox will read CD-R's so long as they are burned in a certain mode. However, I believe that was for the Phillips drive, not Thompson.

Now, either you have the only Thompson drive ever to read a CD-R, you have made a mistake as to what drive you have, or it was a complete fluke and will never happen again. I'm afraid thats just the way it is. The Thompson has been proven for ages now that they WONT read CD-R's.

The only thing I can suggest is try using the same CD-R type for a game or app and see what happens, although I doubt you will get anywhere.
