I just ordered a new PS2 fliptop cover and Swapmagic disks. I would like to hear from those of you who have this on their system and what do you think, like, and dislike about it.

Bucketmouth Jun 11, 2003, 08:11 PM Anyone...........anyone? pisano023 Jun 12, 2003, 12:21 AM I had a system with a chip and it got all messed up after a year or so. Got a new ps2 with the swap discs and the flip lid. I love it, worked for all dvd-rs i have. Few cd-rs I have didn't work but I have a gameshark also so they worked on that. Jaice Jun 12, 2003, 02:40 AM They work great, theres a new Swap Magic disk replacement comming out called Zoneloader, comes out soon, its suppose to be better than Swap Magic. Bucketmouth Jun 12, 2003, 10:00 AM Would you recommend this over the V 5/6 no solder mod? I understand that the no solder is just a tray opener but is their going to be any premature wear on the PS2 using it over the fliptop? My friend is wanting to go with the no solder modchip and I am trying to convince him into the fliptop. I appreciate all your comments. handyguy Jun 12, 2003, 11:16 AM Id stay with a flip top for now. But there are plenty of opinions on both if you want to search the forum. sentinel7 Jun 12, 2003, 02:53 PM hi i use a fliptop, only got a few games so far ,but plays all of em no prob,, Jaice Jun 12, 2003, 03:24 PM Ive heard a few problems with No Solder Mods, like they break the tray Bucketmouth Jun 14, 2003, 02:20 PM Has anyone had any significant problems using the fliptop? It seems that everyone that has one loves it. Is there anyone that has one and dislikes it and why? Jaice Jun 14, 2003, 05:41 PM The only problem would be swaping, but since it was made for that, I guess theres no problems with it. It doesn't harm your PS2, its fast and easy to use also. REDBULL Jun 14, 2003, 06:39 PM Well with the price of chipping now adays i dont see why u need a flip top as u hav to take the ps2 apart so voiding the warranty ? i would buy one for the nolverty factor if they came in some funk colours ? Are they made in different colors ? zybernut Jun 14, 2003, 06:47 PM the drive in my ps2 version 7 with fliptop lid has started to not close. i have had to take the new lid off a few times. anyone know how to fix this as its becoming a pain zybernut Razmatazz Jun 17, 2003, 12:00 PM I was just wondering where i could get one of these flip top lids. I live in england and have never seen or heard of one. I've got an action replay 1.9 on the way so i am gonna play backups using the knife swap trick, which i've discovered works fine. But would the flip top allow me to do this without having to slide a piece of plastic in? and without a chip? dakota379 Jun 17, 2003, 12:11 PM im intrested as well and i live in the us and would prefer to buy in the us. ps2daddy Jun 17, 2003, 12:27 PM Originally posted by Razmatazz I was just wondering where i could get one of these flip top lids. Took me about 20 minutes to take my PS2 apart and put the fliptop on. Everything works great. I am not real impressed with the quality of the swapmagic discs but they do the job I guess. |
