I have the trial version of Stomp RecordNow Max and im having a bit of trouble with it. It does not recognize my dvd drive. I have a DVD+RW/+R Drive that works fine with everything else EXCEPT RecordNow.

So does anyone know how to get it to recognize my drive OR how to set my drive as the default drive? Thanx

As far as I know if it doesn't recognise your drive then it won't recognise your drive. You may have to upgrade from the trial version to the full version for it to do so.

Have you tried Nero? Not 100% on this either but it works for most DVD-r's that I know of.. I realise yours is DVD+r but it might work for you too.

Did you get the px engine update?

The engine update usually updates the list of recognizable drives.

Its called Buslink. Its probably not the best brand out their but i have made copies of dvd's with it.

The thing about it is that i DONT want to upgrade to the Full Version until i know this works for sure. I cant really check that if it doesnt even recognize my driver.

Good thinking pepsik, never thought of that as I've never used it!! ;)

@bob231 :- Does it come up as a Buslink drive in the bios screen? or is it a rebranded drive? You never know!

I did some digging on your drive. It's not compatible with record now yet. I see it being sold in bundles with Nero. It appears that your going to have to use nero until the next engine update.

So BUSlink is defo the manufacturer of that particular drive and its not a rebranded unit made by someone else then?!?!

New name for us all!

Nero should do for you anyway mate, I use it for PS2 and films e.t.c..

yea but nero just lets you burn a certain amount on the trial version. that doesnt really help when i need to burn the entire thing to see if it works. thanx for ur help though.

Ahhh.. Fair enough mate.

Just a little word though.. It would be best to check your PS2's compatability with DVD+r. Not all of them like that particular disc. If you could get a dual format burner you may be better off. Would hate you to get a spanky new DVD+r burner only to find that DVD+r discs don't work in your PS2.. If thats what you're intending to use it for...

It might still work if you update your OS ASPI layer? - search for 'ForceASPI' tool on google - you can always role back the settings using a tool that comes bundled with the download.

Just because your specific DVD Recorder brand wasn't on the compatibility list doens't mean it's not just a clone of one that is so generic drivers may work....worth a go ?
