I've just upgraded to win xp. When i try to install my printer the software says that there isn't enough space on the hard disk. I've a 40 gig hard drive, 35 gig spare.

The instructions says that i need 5 MB of free hard disk space on the drive that contains your system's TEMP directory.

How can i find out if this folders full & if so how would i make the folder bigger?

And where's this folder?

Thanks

by default its the whichever drive/partition you have your operating system on I believe

it should be C:\documents and settings\yourusername\local settings\temp

make sure you have view hidden and system folders on

You don't allocate space for the temp directory. All you do is specify where it goes (or use the default, should be as AYPyro said) & it can use all the free space on the drive.

Is the software itself quite old? I've seen some progs that aren't able to read the size of multigb disks correctly. Some report negative amounts of free space!

See if you can find an updated driver.

I've replaced the cable with a usb cable and xp picked it up straight away.

Thanks for all the help
