I had a problem with my system and had to format my hard drive.

When I reinstalled Windows XP Pro my modem was not recognised so I went into device manager and there is a yellow question mark in 'other devices' next to 'PCI Simple Communications Controller'. I tried to update drivers but no drivers were found.

I have Gigabyte GA-7VAXP motherboard.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem

Cheers
Kaine.

A PCI Simple Communications Controller is usually MS talk for a modem without its correct drivers installed. Do you have a PCI modem in your pc?

You will need to download the latest drivers from the modem manufacturer or remove the modem.

Yellow exclamation mark...

Whats your modem? As said by the Captain, you need the correct set of drivers as PCI Modem (soft Modem??) will not work with Windows standard/ generic drivers.
