Ok, I installed an Asus A7N8 deluxe Mobo, AMD 2500 barton CPU, 256mb DDR 2700 Crucial Ram and a Leadtek FX 5600 256mb MYVIVO Graphics card. OS is WIN XP Pro. It all worked ok for about 3 days and then suddenly blue screen of death with memory dump message. Since this point I havn'y even been able to get into the os. The comp freezes at varying stages of bootup including the ASUS splash screen. If it goes past the splash screen it generally freezes at the point that it tries to load windows. I have reformatted the HDD and tried reinstalling windows but again get blue screen with kernal error messages. I had shoulder length hair 24 hours ago but I look like Grant Mitchell now!
Oh btw the mobo is running at approx 28-30 degrees and the cpu 48 - 51 degrees.:(

Test your memory with memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/) and see if you get any errors and also those cpu temps are they under full load or is that the idle temp? if it's the idle temp that is a little bit hot and could be whats causing the prob but if it's the load temp then it should be fine

u can up the cpu voltage .5volts
and the mem voltage .1 volts
to see if it'll help
that may help.

No I'm not overclocking & the temps are under load. I adjusted the timings and the problem went away - for 8 hours. It's now freezing after windows has loaded. Any reccomendations for RAM manufacturer? I'm sending the Crucial s**t back. I have actually had two modules off them that the mobo won't recognise so it's all pointing to the RAM.
Thanks for the help guys - any reccomendations for RAM manufacturer gratefully received.

Thanks for the help guys - it looks as if it was the memory that was causing the problems. I actually went for Crucial memory but for some reason the mobo didn't seem to like it. I've now gone for Kingston - it cost me an extra 20 notes but its working. BTW Crucial have been spot on - they took the modules back without quibble and have promised me a full refund inc postage charges which will actually leave them out of pocket. I've used them before and will use them again!
