Ive just put a messiah 2 in my v4 ps2 (which did have a messiah 1, but ive upgraded to the messiah 2 so i can play ps2 games online by disabling the chip).

So i removed the wires from the chip on the old messiah, but left them soldered to the ps2 board as they both have the same points to connect.

I fitted the chip, done the new CLK connection and when i trun the PS2 on i get the red LED on the standby button but when i press stand by or eject nothing happens.

Anyone know why this could be happening.

Have you damaged the silver flat cable that connects the the eject and reset buttons, sounds to me that its ripped as Sony have used a very flimsy material. Take the top off and have a look at the lead or check its plugged in correctly if you unplugged it.
