You need to read the stickys posted above. There isn't one simple answer for DVD Burning.

Your's specs are at definitely at the lower end. cpu and RAM should be ok but ... 13gb HDD. I hope at least that's free space then you may have an outside chance.

For a starter, read the sticky as well as dvdrhelp, which has tons of info on a lot of different DVD topics. Here are the basic tasks and programs I have used.

Ripping - Most commercial DVD's are encrytped so you need software to read the files. DVD Decrypter, SmartRipper, DVD Shrink. 10 - 30 minutes.

Compression/encoding - Most commercial DVDs come in dual layer format > 4.7GB. So if you wan to burn one to one you need to shrink the contents. Pinnacle Instant Copy 7 (IC7) , DVD Shrink. 10 minutes to 4 hours.

Taking out extras - You do this so that the contents fit onto a single DVD w/o compression or to achieve a better compression ratio. IC7, DVD Shrink.

Burning - IC7, DVD Decrypter, RecordNowMax. 15 to 60 minutes.

There are many other programs out there. Of course every member will have their own list of favorite programs.

Hehe. 4 hours compression is on my P4 2.4Hz and 512MB using IC7. So indeed compression on your system would take all day.

Wow just noticed your system specs and honestly I would upgrade your PC before buying a DVD burner. 13GB DEFINITELY won't do the job when you consider that you will need over 4GB for each DVD project.
