A friend of mine transfered some family videos on to DVD using a Philips 880 and I want to cut out 2 of the videos from one and combine the one I wish to keep with 2 others that Are on another disc. I thought each video would have its own VOBS but that is not the case. Can someone point me in the right direction please....Which software would be best for this purpose?

Hmm it's a right swine aint it? I hate standalone recorded sh!te..
Anyhow You could try merging all the VOBS together with Filmerger ( found it easy enough using GOOGLE. then use something like ChopperXP (again Google) to cut out all the before/after video/audio you dont want. This will give you a VOB stripped of the junk you dont require then you can use TMPGENC to demux the AUDIO/VIDEO from the stripped VOB Chopper produced (use simple demux option in TMPGenc). This will leave you free to import your .M2V and . AC3 into the authoring package of your choice..
It seems a lot to do for a little project but in fact it wont take that long as it's all stripping and not encoding etc. For your first attempt allow an hour it will be considerably quicker when you know what you're at.

Thanks danman,
The main problem I am having is that there are 3 menu items on one of the discs and I want them to be separate menu items on the new disc. I have ripped the vobs and I just tried to cut the unwanted sections with DVD SHRINK but got an out of memory error. I am about to reboot to see if that make any difference. I will get back to you asap

For some reason, Both DVD2ONE and DVDSHRINK will not process the files. Just come up with the program has encountered an error and must close......I was going to use the edit features in these progs to split them into the wanted sections. Guess I will have to find another way.

You could keep the original intact with chopperxp so you can make 3 eperate extractions.

Yes m8. There is a video_ts folder with all the VOBS, BUPS and IFO's as you would expect but instead of an AUDIO_TS folder there is a folder labeled VIDEO_RM.which has ome files in it. I suspect this is something to do with the menu's.
