I have been hearing that this model dvd burner allows to make cd to cd backups of my xbox games ll that is needed is a piece of software...does anyone know if this is possible and if so what software is required.

You CANNOT backup ANY XBOX original disc without hooking up your XBOX to your PC and doing an FTP. If you are referring to making a backup of a backup then you can do this with any CD or DVD burner.

yep, Xbox games cannot be read by PC DVDRom drives
