Bought a used Sony CDwriter a CRX800E for my IBM laptop, T23. When i boot up i get a blue screen when Windows tries to start, the operating system is NT 4. Cant seem to get any help from Sony etc, anyone know if this particular writer needs XP?

The drive is not O/S dependent. Check that is is correctly set up (power and data cable etc). Check your BIOS settings, does the laptop show any errors during POST? (Power on self test)
