Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 02:51 PM Cheers bud.
I've seen this but i can't find any solutions to the problem anywhere on the net, but thanks anyway
redwolf Jun 27, 2003, 02:54 PM Timeout, i don't know what it is, seem like it couldn't initialise the HD is, did you put the HD to cableselect?
Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 02:55 PM how do you do that?
redwolf Jun 27, 2003, 03:00 PM Look back off the HD there should be pairs of pins, only one pair is "jumpered". Bacicaly its Master, Slave and Cableselect. refer to your HD manual. Most PC uses either Master or Slave, but when its in xbox you need to choose Cableselect...
redwolf Jun 27, 2003, 03:04 PM Should look something like this..

Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 03:05 PM If you look at my new hard drive in the xbox i 've got jumpers on ( :::.: )
3 & 4 & 8
Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 03:09 PM Redwolf, thats a good pic. Mine is set to the 3rd pic along the top

Your hard drive has died you can either replace the motherboard and hard drive as a pair or go through multiple steps with a modchip to allow you to create a new drive or lock a previously unlocked xbox drive to the password your motherboard has.
Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 03:20 PM Died, i only got it an hour ago, £96 from ebuyer
Thanks Redwolf
Bumfield007 Jun 27, 2003, 03:22 PM Also i forgot to say, all the applications from slayers disk are on the hard drive, so wouldn't that suggest the hard drive is working unless something missing. Just a thought
redwolf Jun 27, 2003, 03:25 PM Test the HD in you PC. Then Try Slayer CD again...
Hi,
I recently got error code 07 on my xbox.
So i placed a regular hd drive in it, and it gave error 16.
I was excpecting 05, but since the drive did not contain any xbox partions
it seems logical.
So i put in a game cd and then i did get error 5.
As a final check i disconnected the DVD ide cable, then got error code 11.
These tests indicate that there is nothing wrong with the xbox's ide
controller.
So i modded the box with a matrix chip.
But still i did not have a backup to restore....
so i downloaded Slayer's setup 2.0, burned it to cd,
booted and brought back life in my xbox.
Great site btw!!
Hope u can use this info
The xbox in question in a V1.1 PAL machine.
Regards
Aczez
Bumfield007 Jun 28, 2003, 03:08 AM OK. I give up. I think i'll need to get a replacement hard drive. How can i wipe the hard drive clean without connecting it to the pc. Would i get into bother if i sent it back with slayers installed on it?
