Was just wondering if you could copy movies from retail/copied dvds to the hdd- would they play or even copy in the first place?
Also, has anyone known a thomson drive to read anything other than dvdr?
I know They're not supposed to read cd-r, but does this mean they can read cd-rw?
Thanks for all the help, flash

He asked about movies not games. I dont think there is a way to copy dvd movies over the xbox hd without converting them to Divx/avi/mpg first. I copied a movie over to my hd and tried watching it with XBMP, but it didnt work.

you can copy over and watch dvdr movies (unencrypted) but original dvds will copy over but you wont be able to watch them because theres not any xbox software that decrypts the vobs as it copies them over, it just copies them straight accross without decrypting
youd have to copy them to ur pc first (using a program that decrypts the vobs) and then ftp them to your xbox (or burn a dvdr from the decrypted vobs)
also, i use memorex high speed cd-rw's on my thomson (the 4x ones dont work)
