okay heres the story.
my cdrom is broken, im completely sure because i tried to connect it to other pcs and it didnt work.
my dvd drive is working perfect.
thing is, when i removed the cdrom drive and left only the dvd drive, the computer would not start up.
the dvd drive is the only drive in the pc.
now, i tried setting the dvd drive to slave and master but no luck.
i also put the broken cdrom back in as master and dvd as slave and vice versa and it didnt work, the pc wouldnt even boot up.
what can be the problem?
it used to work with the broken cdrom as slave and dvd rom as master but not it doesnt after i tried to take out the broken cdrom today.
thanks.

Now then mate, I can't realy explain what has happened with your drives as this should not really affect anything (as it should skip to the next boot device available if there is a problem with a particular drive), but check in your bios that your first boot device is set to the hard drive that windows is installed on (usually C:). Disable all other boot devices and see if this gets you into Windows, Which from there, you should be able to determine which devices are functioning properly from the control panel ---> system ---> device manager.

Maybe in BIOS an IDE channel isn't enabled? Enable them both!
