I have 256 of PC2700 and would like to add 512 of PC3500. Should I leave the PC2700 in, or toss it?

I'm not sure about the latest motherboards but 'older' boards run all the memory at the same speed. If you mix fast & slow memory it will access all the memory at the slower speed.
