The only other one that I know of is the 120GB one that is going into the PSX being released next year. Jaice Jul 01, 2003, 02:32 AM Thay plan to release the Offical PS2 Harddrive when Final Fantasy 11 comes out. There are teams that have NON Sony Harddrives working with the PS2, but are working out all the bugs before they release the info on how to do it. konga123 Jul 01, 2003, 03:07 AM quite a few people already have the HDD.... the beta testers of final fantasy 11 received a free HDD... - Konga123 spankthemonkeys Jul 01, 2003, 06:49 AM Hd will be out Q1 of next year when FFXI is released. compuatic Jul 01, 2003, 01:36 PM whats the advantage of a hardrive? faster loading ? saving games on it ? no memory card ? it will definately make it bigger like the x-crate jesterrace777 Jul 01, 2003, 03:20 PM Not likely that the harddrive is going to make the PS2 bigger. The PS2 has been designed with a harddrive bay from day 1 and I just can't see sony making the mistake of forcing people to all go out and buy newer and larger PS2s just so they can have a harddrive. kof2000 Jul 01, 2003, 03:37 PM i dont think they will make it so that you can save game saves on the drive, that will make their memory card out of business. some games use the drive to store some info so probably will reduce the load times. Jaice Jul 01, 2003, 04:43 PM It really would made Memory Cards sell less, cause you can just take the Harddrive over to a friends house if you want to load some settings. The Sony upside is some games require to save large amounts of data for games, like FF11, or to download demos, trailers, and game add ons. The UPSIDE TO US is developing, just like with X-box, we will probably be able to run games off out harddrive, gread for roms, and movies. If PS2 can suppot large Harddrives like 120Gb, and run games off it with help from outside developers, we can buy many harddrives and put games on them, and when it fills up, we can use a second and third hd and put games on there too. compuatic Jul 01, 2003, 06:00 PM good points Jaice konga123 Jul 01, 2003, 08:04 PM if it does support saving of games in the future it may lower memory card saves, but in the end they'd still make more money, you're still going to most likely have to purchase this HDD (I doubt they will include it with the retail final fantasy etc), that would mean they'd have to include a HDD with every game that required it, games don't come with memory cards, or a controller, they are items you need to purchase (obviously in most cases the controller comes with the PS2:)) - Konga123 Jaice Jul 02, 2003, 01:19 AM I personally think the will make a FF11 Harddrive bundle, for about $99.99 ;) |
