Can I Connect my PS2 and XBOX to the internet with my PC’s home network, it’s an RJ45 hub? If so how do I do it? Thanks, as I only got an USB ADSL modem ;)

Do you want to be able to share your connection with your Xbox, PS2 and PC simultaneously?

If so, you will need a broadband router that you connect to your DSL, and then those broadband routers usually also have a 5 port hub/switch that you connect other computers/consoles to so they share the connection.

Or just use Internet Connection Sharing that's free and built into all versions of windows later than Win98(including Win98 SE). It's really easy to set up and the only downside is that your PC has to be on any time you want to access the internet with a console.

to set up ics you'll need at least 1 more network card and a crossover cable (depends on whether you want your ps2 and xbox connected at the same time)
install the network card in your pc and connect it to the ps2/xbox with the crossover cable, go into CONTROL PANEL/NETWORK CONNECTIONS and right click your pc's network connection, select properties and click the advanced tab and check ALLOW OTHER NETWORK USERS TO CONNECT THROUGH THIS CONNECTION, you should now be able to connect with your ps2 and xbox but you'll need the pc to be on to connect (it sometimes takes me a couple of attempts to connect with my ps2 depending on what game i'm playing)

if you want both xbox and ps2 connected at the same time then you'll need another network card and crossover cable

Thanks mate, but can I just plug the PS2 with a STD RJ45 cable (not a crossover) into my network hub instead???

PS: my two PC are running Win XP pro, and have one network card in each, and connect to a 5 port network hub,

When using a hub, you would want to plug a straight cable into it. Only a pc-pc connection or device device connection would want a cross over cable

i have my broadband connection str8 into a NIC (Network Interface Card). Then have internet file sharing setup on that pc. This then goes out of a second NIC to a 5 port router that then has 2 other pc's and my ps2 connected to it. All 4 machines can connect to the net with no problems. There is no problems with what o/s is used. As i'm using xp pro on master pc, me on second pc and win 98 se on third (dont ask why i have it setup this way as its just my preferance). Only thing is master pc has to be on for any of the other 3 machines to connect to the net.
