I recently hooked up a newer acer crw-9832 8x4x32 cdrw drive to my existing system. The primary master ide is hooked up to my hard drive with no slave and my secondary master has the 52x LG cd-rom as the master and the cdrw as the slave. All wires seem to be secure and hooked up correctly.

The problem I am having is the cd burning software that I'm using does not detect the cdrw or the cd-rom drives.I'm currently using nti cd-maker,but have also used a new trial version of adensoft and it doesn't detect either drives as well.

I have downloaded a new aspi code(or whatever it is) and no change.

Looking at the device manager,it does detect both drives.

What else can I do?

mike.

It still sounds like an ASPI problem. Can you see the drives in windows explorer? If so it's likely the ASPI is the issue.
If you haven't done so download ForceASPI. Run Kill Aspi to remove your old ASPI layer then the Installation file to add a fresh ASPI to your system.
