I boot my PC - HD empty - with a Windows 98 boot disk (official) . But when it tries to load cdrom drivers (OAKCDROM.SYS,BTCDROM.SYS) it displays:
"No device drivers found. Aborting installation."

I downloaded some others from the web, but still the same $#!#%@ problem !!
It denies to accept mscdex...I also booted from Win ME boot disk...the same crap.

I have an MSI i875P Mobo,Seagate 120GB,512DDR...system.
Is it mobo's fault ?? I did try to setup WIN 98 from the CD ( BIOS=CD BOOTABLE) but nothing !!
Please, what can I do to make it "see" my CDRW as a CDROM drive in DOS so as to install Windows XP ?????
PLease Help me with the @#%@$#% DOS drivers.

Hi nas2003,

Well it doesn't look like a bootdisk/driver problem but you may want to try the official dos driver

http://www.teac.com/DSPD/support/dt_ide_cdrw/ide_cdrw.htm

Otherwise it will be either of the drive, cable or mobo. As with all similar situations with multiple possibilities you have to rule things out. Do you have a spare cable to try, try re-seating the cable. Do you have a spare drive hanging around, try it. If they don't make a difference see if you can borrow a mobo, i know it maybe a big ask.
