after extracting the folder to hdd i open the folder and place a shortcut icon to desktop.at first it opens fine.but will not open once pc has rebooted.any ideas?

I suppose the shortcut isn't pointing to a temporary location? i.e. when you open a file in a a winzip file it gets written to your temp folder which is then deleted after you close winzip. If you extract to a permanent place on the HDD and create a shortcut to that then it should work OK.

the shortcut is fine.it will open but if i run another program and then try and open shrink it wont open.if i copy the folder from floppy with shrink in to hdd and overwirite the shortcut will work again.

Have you tried placing the prog on your desktop?

You cannot access the help file directly from the prog this way but I'm sure it would work, works for me.

Try not making it a shortcut and installing it straight to desktop.HTH

I realise that, what I mean is what pepsik posted. ;)

could it be a virus?its only shrink thats effected.i did use a program called pcmedik.i think thats when it went wrong.

i ment after running a program it stops.works again when restarted.
