I am curious if anyone can tell me why the naming convention dvd5 and dvd9 is used. What do the 5 and 9 stand for? Is it just a rounding off of the disc capacity?
thanks

A DVD9 is 8.54 you loose some data capacity in using 2 layers as compared to two disctinct sides. Also remember that for these purposes 1gig = 1*10^9 bytes and not 1*2^30. king$nake Jul 10, 2003, 12:55 PM this was more philosophical in nature. why arent they dvd4.7 and dvd9.4 but thanks. Encript Jul 12, 2003, 07:26 PM 9 and 5 are the hours id like to have for my job.lol king$nake Jul 13, 2003, 03:10 PM wouldnt we all. for me its hard and soft length |
