MOSSCHINO Jul 09, 2003, 02:07 PM What is the best software to duplicate a DVD-R?
To copy and make an identicle copy like the original?
This is my first DVD Burner.
Thanks , I appreciate the help.
Mr Snatcher Jul 09, 2003, 02:22 PM Try dvdshrink, its free. There are others like instant copy 7, dvd2one, dvdxcopy. I her instant copy 7 is the best for movies that are over 4.7 gbs.
rd350ypvs Jul 09, 2003, 02:42 PM If it is under 4.7Gb then just use dvd-decrypter in ISO mode to read and write the image, job done
andyw
hollie.weimeraner Jul 09, 2003, 03:06 PM Alcohol 120% works for me - no coasters yet (under 4.7GB). DVD2one if its over that.

As long as you are doing DVD-R to DVD-R then you can simply use Recordnow Max to do the job. Just read to the HD and then write back to the blank DVD-R and you will have a perfect working copy.
MOSSCHINO Jul 10, 2003, 02:41 PM Thanks for all the info , everyone.
I been having problems with my pioneer ao5 and burning to Memorex media DVD+R.The pioneer does not recognize this blank media. Is there a better media such as Apple , Princo or Ritek?
Mr Snatcher Jul 10, 2003, 02:48 PM Your problem is beause you are using a +r disk, need to use -r.
MOSSCHINO Jul 10, 2003, 02:51 PM What does the + & - mean?

Yup as mentioned in other posts you have a DVD-R/-RW writer and not a DVD+R/+RW writer. Unless you have a drive that supports both + and - you cannot write + on a - format drive and vice versa. Simply a difference of formatting but other than that not a whole lot of difference. For Starting out I would highly recommend Ritek DVD-R discs as they are highly compatible with DVD Players, Videogame consoles, ect. I think you will also find the media a little bit cheaper than the Memorex DVD+R discs that you tried.
pinoypsx Jul 11, 2003, 02:47 PM I just figured how to copy on the fly. Using recordmax now. Hooked up dvd drives to seperate IDE connectors. Saves me 30 min time now. Before that I could only copy to HD then to disk.
Stevensly Jul 12, 2003, 06:58 PM hollie.weimeraner,
when using Alcohol, are you ripping the files to the h/d first?
Im wondering if alcohol can do a decrypt/burn on the fly.
Is this even possible?
celtic_druid Jul 13, 2003, 02:39 AM Alcohol does not decrypt. It coult though, in theory if you had AnyDVD running, I wouldn't want to try copying on the fly though.
jesterrace777 Jul 13, 2003, 04:05 AM I agree that copying on the fly with DVDs is really a gamble. Some people get them to work with no trouble but most end up running into trouble sooner or later. It will save you time and money in the long run if you take a little bit of extra time and copy to the HD first.
