Do you mean burn the compressed VOB's? You should have a audio_ts & video_ts containing the vobs. Just burn them using your dvd burning program. Audio_ts is not really necessary in most cases as it's empty but it doesn't hurt. You can check the vobs by openeing with a dvd player such as windvd or powerdvd.

I'm not at home right now so i'm not exactly positive which file extension it is, but it's the file that has a weird icon i think it's extension is (.ifo) or it could be (.bup). But I'm certain it has a different assigned icon through win98 se. HTH

It could have something to do with the FAT32 limitation of the Win98.

As jester says, if you have created (or tried to create) an image file over 4gb, then W98 wont be able to handle it, because the FAT32 format doesn't support files over 4gb.

If this is the case, re-rip, with DvdDecrypter, in File mode and try again.

tried ripping it again using the full dvd shring guide , i have got to "creating an image of the dvd shrink-ed DVD FOR BURNING . STEP 4 , Ive checked to see it play on my hard drive , now the problem , i then open img tool , (fine works ok) open the file find my "dvd name " choose the target file and then get this response "can't find a video _ts directory . This directory must exist below the given directory.

so i seeem to have compressed this dvd fin onto my hard drive but for the life of me i can't get it off the h/drive into a file that dvd dycrypter or shrink will reconise, i am using windows 98 se , is this the prob? as im fine doing 1:1 copies

run it through dvd2one, that program can make files you need. I do this sometimes.

Upgrade to XP or, as mentioned already, rip/compress in File mode then FAT32 will be fine .... forget about creating an image, just burn the files output by DVDShrink or Dvd2one, using Nero or whatever burning proggy you prefer.
