Hi, I'm a newbie so excuse any mistakes i make plz. I have just bought a pioneer A05 and am using the folowing programmes to rip dvd's over 4.7Gb.

Nero: 5.5.10.35
Dvd2One V1.1.3
DVD Decrypter V3.1.6.0

The problem i'm having is that although the dvd's are ripping correctly when i burn them to DVD-R using the UDF 1.02 format in nero ( as previously advised ) and play them in a stand-alone player the film automatically starts, without loading the menus as it should:tdown:. The menu's are there and accessible by pressing "menu" on the remote control but i want the menus to load automatically when inserting the dvd. Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, PugSport

Yeah it seems to be happening with virtually all of the films i rip. However, I ripped Ali G In Da House and About a Boy in exactly the same way but they worked fine.
Did you manage to solve the problem or is it still being a pain for you aswell?

try burning the files back using nero but with the dvdvideo option. put all the decrypted files in the video_ts folder and burn. u should get all the menus if there is enough room on the dvd that is.........

Cheers for the help Imposter [DT] , I Tried this last night after wasting quite a few dvd's trying other way's. What you told me worked (Or @ least it seems to have on the few i've had patience to rip late at night )

The reason i didn't just didn't burn the files back as "dvdvideo" is because i got told in another guide that this can cause problems when trying to playback on certain stand-alones, hence the UDF 1.02 format. Anyway, thanx again. Pugsport

I think yo'll find that lots of people had problems with Nero, several versions back and bad news sticks for a long time.

The newer versions of Nero have no such problems, but many still feel ........ "once bittem, twice shy".

I have used Nero, with the "dvdvideo" option for many months now, without a hitch, so the DVD compliancy issue is no longer a problem.
