Hi all,

I have looked everywhere to find an answer to this problem! I saw " marsbarbabe " had a similar/the same problem but no answer was posted!??!

I am on Win98SE with an Asus P2B-S, PIII 600, and Promise66 controller.

I have a LiteOn LTR-52246S burner (firmware 6SOD) and CDRWin 3.9d . The CDRWin web page says this drive is supported.

When I go to burn the .bin file I get a " Error: 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 0:1:0 Unable to set disc parameteres "

What does it mean " Unable to set disc parameters " ??

I had another burner that burns the same file just fine!??!

Thanks for any and all help for a relative 'newbie' to the dark arts of burning CD's!

Please respond to my e-mail at: youngie_1@NOSPAMhotmail.com removing the NOSPAM from the address as I couldn't get the PM system to work on here either!?!? Oi vey.. what a day for a brain fart!:hdspin:

it could be the media that you are using. Some drives are just flat-out picky about what type to burn with.

Also, this may sound a little off-the-wall, but you could try leaving the media out of the burner, sellect the files you want to burn, click on the burn button, and when it asks to insert the blank disk, then insert it and see if that helps.
