Just got a file which has both English and German Audio. It is in .avi format.
When I play it (WMP) I can only get the German audio - how do I change to english?
I eventually want to convert them to DVD, I know how to do this etc, but how do I make sure I encode it with the English audio also?
Thanks

Well you can use VirtualDubMod to remove/extract either stream. As for playback, either use a player with built in support for multiple audio streams or install something like the morgan stream switcher.

Thanks for that - exactly what I needed.
Another question: I now want to convert to DVD with TMPGEnc. I know I can extract the English track in VirtualDubMod and then merge them together in TMPGEnc, but is there anyway to change the default language of the avi to English (it's german at the moment), so I can convert straight away in TMPGEnc.
I ask this, because when I seperate the track I always seem to get sync problems.
Thanks

Did you try just disabling the german track and resaving?

You mean in WMP? I got the Morgan Stream Switcher. I can select the English Audio track, but it doesnt default to that track if I reload the file. How would I disable the track?
Thanks again.

No, with VirtualDubMod. Open file. Disable German. Make sure that video is set to directstreaming and save.

Yeah, thanks, that worked. But, my new .avi file is dreadfully out of sync?

Well then I guess you will just have to manually resync it when converting.
Personally, I don't really have any experiance with multi audio stream AVI's, I mean if I want multiple audio streams, then I use a decent container.
