It is out there. I don't know if is a beta or not, but,
So far I have tested the ripped version & the ISO version.
I have burnt several DVD's & Audio CD's with both,and no problems.
Although some people are having problems with it.

it's the full version
i'm running it, HUSH!!!
and there are a few versions out there, the real version is 270mb on a disc
there are the 50/80mb versions and others, because it has so many features

the 50/80mb is just the burning rom itself

Great program, if you have no problem with 5.5 then stick to it

It sure seems like the full version.
I have had no problems with it, but I don't seem to
the problems, alot of people have with nero. It
has over the years became my favorite, all round
burning program.
I'll most likely purchase this new one.

Yeah, I saw it at my local Fry's for sale for $99.00. Kinda too expensive for my pockets. hehe

Minor word of advice on the continuing story of updates.....

Remember the Golden Rule in pc maintenance: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..."

I mean, many people are obsessed with updates and install them over and over by the dozen. What is the use??? You really should consider why you would want to update, especially if the previous version works just fine.
Unless the update will actually supply you with anything worthwhile, it will only fragment your drives, mess up your registery and leave slack everywhere...

Nero 5 does everything I need, I don't see why Nero 6 is needed (that may change in the future).
Like the quote 'If i were two-faced, do you really think i would be wearing this one?' I'm going to use that one :round:

Nero 6.x works great for me. I especially like the new, more polished interface.
I use it more for CD-Rs than DVD burning though, for now.

ahead has done a good job with this new version.

tainty1 - Yes, I am the one posting on bst... Hope that eases your mind.

M0dd.... that is quite a dumb answer....
of course 6 is higher that 5, but that does not automatically mean there is a some urgent need to upgrade instantly.
Upgrading is only worth the effort if it actually adds something usefull. (and with that i do not mean smooth looks)
I expect Ahead has done some serious work on the programs structure and engine, but still, in my opinion, you need a reason to upgrade.

These software updates are just like new pc models being sold. You can buy yourself a new one every month if you like to, and every month things probably will get better. The cpu will be a faster, hdd will be larger, videocard will be better... but still.... what is the use of buying a new pc every month? The effort will be hardly anything. :D
