I downloaded a file off of the net and it is supposed to be a image so i can just burn it to a disk but I do not believe it actually is. The name of the file has a ".iso " after it. But when i right clicked and went to properties it says
MS-Dos name : file.exe. Is it a .exe file? when i burnt this onto cd it is not recognized as an image. i tried to open the file and it says it is not a valid win 32 application. How do i go about opening or burning this file??

download either ISObuster or WinISO and take a look at what's inside i'd also do a viruscan just to make sure. HTH

It may have been compressed & made into a self extractor. It could be a corupt file which is why you can't run it.
Could also contain a virus / trojan. Virus scan it before you go any further.

Does the site you downloaded it from not have any instructions for what to do with it?

If you downloaded it off P2P then just rename it to an ISO file. Just delete the .exe name that's after the .iso. P2P uploaders rename the iso file to xxxxx.iso.exe so they show up on software searches..............just my 2 cents..............virus scan a very good idea as well...........
