I have done some investigating and found this out. I kept the task manager window open during the time the comp froze and csrss.exe was on 100% CPU usauge, sometimes 99%. Can anyone help out?

For one thing, there really is no such thing as converting Windows Server 2003 to a workstation. Server is always server and as such it is optimized for server reliability, not normal user workstation performance and speed. If you want a workstation with better performance use Windows XP.

Anyways...csrss.exe is the Windows Client Server Runtime Subsystem. You need that. Something else is causing csrss.exe to slow down. Have you updated all your drivers? (Particularly your video drivers)

Have you tried reducing your clock speed to something less ambitious?

QWERTY: You can convert a server into a workstation as well as a workstation into a Server. Windows XP can be converted to a server or even Windows Media center, with nothing more then a small program that just changes the registry and doesnt add anything in. It might be cosmetic in some places but the positives outweigh the negatives. If you diisagree with me talk to the creators of TweakNT or ntTweak. And all drivers are updated.

Virgin San: Yes.

Do you really think a few Tweaks is all there is to it? Do you really think a few registry changes is all there is between a server, a workstation, or even Media Center edition?

{sigh} Sorry, but you're delusional if you really believe that... That's like saying getting a red paint job on your car will make it go faster.

Have you even considered that possiblity that one or more of those tweaks you did is behind all your problems??? Your system freezes for 5 seconds everytime you do something on the desktop...still think the Positives are outweighing the Negatives? Have you tried a clean install of Server 2003 without tweaking it and seeing if the problem still exist?

It doesnt freeze for 5 seconds everytime I do something on my desktop. It freezes for five seconds when I hover over a right clicked menu, and it happens in other programs too. Did i say that it increases the performances, or anything related like that? NO. What it does it make the OS more compatable with other software. Here is a descritom that was pulled from NTstitch.

"It's a well-known fact that Microsoft's Windows Workstation and Windows Server products share the same binaries - the only difference lies in the registry."

Once again, i must tell you, i am not the creator of this program, please send all your thoughts to the him, and not to me. I am here to try to have my problem resolved and not dispute the purpose of this program. I have tried uninstalling the tweaks, of which there is no difference. If you have any other suggestions please share them with me. However If you thread cr@p again I wll report you.

Copyright, Qwerty is only trying to help, not everyone go out and 'buy' a copy of 2003 server and then use it as a workstation, some members here dont do these things, they simply go by their normal work experience and knowledge, and for most of us, what you are asking is not a normal thing.

I been here long enough and know enough about whos good and whos not, Qwerty is a long time member of this forum and is well respected, so dont pull that crap again about reporting him, it doesnt work here, take this as a warning.

I do not apreciate being badjered by you or anyone else, I asked for a solution to my problem and not a whole story of how im "delusional". I have paid for this version of windows and I can scan my reciept of $4,000 showing you how I have "bought." Maybe the fact that im trying to install it onto another PC without being charged another $4,000 is a crime, i duno you decide. I am glad that you "have been long enough and know about whos good and whos not" looks like the least you can do is spell his name with proper capitilzation to show how 'good' he is. Is it to much to ask for a soultion to a problem and not be verbally asaulted?

If you dont like the way the forum operates, then feel free to go elsewhere, I do not need you to tell me how to run this forum.

Qwerty were trying his best to help you, and if you cant see that, then tough, and you really think I have time to check every simgle word for spelling, as I said, if you are not happy here, go elsewhere.
