i've had broadband cable modem for 3 month. In the past 4 days i have been loosing my connection every day. About every 12-24 hours.

when I do ipconfig /all i see my ip addresses and all the other details.. When i restart - the internet works again, and i when i check the ip address, it's the exact same configuration as before the restart when it doesn't work.

Also - i don't have to restart if I ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

They switched out my cable modem today, but i'm still having this problem. I also tried a differenty NIC card (3com) and still same problem...

What could it be?

Try reinstalling the setup program and the modem driver from your cable service provider.

it could be aproblem in your area try phoning your cable company, if its blueyonder there quite good at sorting things out over the phone, but there crap at call outs
