i've tryed a few movies a some dont work where can i get new codex's from ?

I prolly cant help you but some more information would be nice. By movies do you mean origional DVD movies or are you using XBox Mediaplayer and trying to run a ripped movie encoded in avi, mpeg etc format?

xbox media player has just about every codec you could think of allready in it. if you're not running the latest version, 2.4, then you should upgrade. if you are and the movies still aren't playing, then they may be bad encodes or a funky codec that xbmp doesn't support.
