Just acquired an xbox from a member here already setup with matrix chip, evolutionx etc. received it yest and powered up fine, played for about an hour then went to bed, this morning tried to power it up and it tries 3 times then the light on the front starts flashing red/green, and have a blank screen, not loading anything. Would there be something loose in the machine??? Bad bios??? if so how to fix it??
It worked for a little bit last night then nothing.
the only thing I changed in the box itself was the ip address trying to connect to my computer, nothing else was changed.
thanks for any help

your chip might be loose mate, u will have to take the box apart and try refitting it, if still no look, try reflashing it with the Xecuter 4976.02 BIOS NOT 4977 OTHERWISE MODE 3 WILL NOT WORK!!!

If it does work, you might want to try turning your Mod off to see if it boots to the original dash, if not, you need to re-arrange your C drive file setup.

Post back and let me know how you get on.

If I take the box apart are there little lights on the chip that will let me know if it has good connection or not???

Also if I have to flash with a new bios I don't see any way to do this, cannot get the box to load up, dvd drive will not open, do not have a connection from the computer to the xbox that is working yet have the cable into my router but ahve not been able to get on?

matrix chips come with programmers.... the guy you got it off of, stiffed you if you didn't get it. But it sounds like a definate allignment problem. take your box apart and and try re-allinging it. just leave everything hooked up but folded out to the side so you can keep testing without putting it all back together.

Well I just hit the top of the xbox a little and it now works, so I guess the chip is out of alignment and I will have to adjust it.

Yeh, if it is a matrix chip, go to their website and download the instruction manual. It will help you to aline it up.

There's also another nice trick to getting it to stay aligned. Go out to home depot and get an 8/32 3/8 (or #8 3/8)sheet metal screw... basically the next size up. This will rethread your hole nice and tight. Finally striped mine the other night so I had to go out and do this. Well worth it!

also a little trick is to lossen up all the screws on your mobo. then tighten down the matrix solid, then tighten up all the other screws. this will make it as solid as you can get.

I too will get the flashing red/green and a smack on the side of the case while is booting will get the chip re-aligned, or ????? It works though....

On another note. My next door neighbor has the matrix too, but his will lose the bios about every other month or so..... it flashes the red/green and does it's dance 3 times..... the chip is still green but it shows as a bad flash. Just to test, I put it in mine last time this happened, and it indeed was missing the bios on the chip..... what would be causing this? We are not sure if his son (11) is playing a certain game that will cause this, but we have no clue.....
