If i bought an Xbox with a tsop flash upgrade to play back ups does this mean it is chipped etc?Could i install Evo X, Xbox media player and use xbox live.Is there a better option available.Any help will be appreciated.

Well thats the idea, if you get it at a good price, then get it. Otherwise you can buy a new one and install the mod yourself and chance screwing it up. You can installl evox, media player etc.. Turn off the caps, otherwise someone people will not help.:tup:

Yep, the only thing that you cannot do that a chip can do is turn off, switch to the retail bios. So, that means no Xbox live. If Xbox Live doesn't matter to you, then a flashed TSOP is right for you. I have a flashed TSOP with X2 4977 and it works just like my friends modded x2l with 4977, I just can't use XBL, which is not a problem to me.

Hello :), Well.. u can flash the tsop back 2 normal if u have a copy of the orginal bios prior to flashing the tsop. That's the only way 2 do live, Also the drive must b locked. Now in order 2 reflash the tsop back 2 the x2 bios u can use the 007/mech hack & you're back 2 the x2 bios again. Really simple.

question: once you have done the tsop mod, u can flash it whenever and with whatever bios, correct?
What if I want to flash back to the ms bios? I know u can go from, evox to xecutor bios, but what about evox/xec to ms then ms to evox/xec? Do i have to keep doing the 007 hack everytime i go from ms bios to another?

Stevensly, the easier method for live and a TSOP flash is to install a switch, there is a guide on xbox-scsene forums in the tsop section that is very good. It only works with 1mb bios though so if you have a 256k bios you will not be able to do it.

Basically you'll TSOP the bios with a 2 bank bios, bank 1 will be retail bios and bank 2 will be your x2 bios. It's not that difficult of a mod to do.

Yeah, when you get your TSOP machine, which is a pretty easy mod to do, you ask the person to put in a switch. I have seen them sold with such.
